First written as a ballad, the song talks about when we struggle to get through bad times and don't have support. So, we have to dig even deeper in ourselves and try to take each day at a time. The song was triggered when a friend became ill. However, I wanted the song to be accessible, so I wrote the words from a spiritual sense as well as a physical sense of hope and well being.

This is the pop version of the song. Although I play the acoustic version live at shows, I could always hear a fully produced version.

If I Can Breathe is the first of the 'Double Take Series', namely two versions of the song will be released: one pop version and one acoustic/ambient version.
